Next Hydrogen

Next Hydrogen, a Future Hydrogen Company, was founded in 2008 and has achieved unprecedented operational flexibility through its revolutionary electrolyzer design, making on‐site and large‐scale hydrogen production economical. From the very beginning, our proven and experienced technology development team has targeted the high cost of producing hydrogen from power sources (including large-scale renewable energy). We recognized that although some excellent teams with strong capital resources around the world are focused on improving battery materials and components, advancements in battery design architecture have received little attention. Consequently, the conventional alkaline water electrolyzer design—which has remained unchanged for decades and is similar to processes used in chemical production (where hydrogen is merely a byproduct)—still suffers from key issues. It was specifically designed for stable power input and, therefore, offers low operational flexibility. This limitation is particularly pronounced with renewable energy, where demand, availability, and pricing fluctuate throughout the day. Our team, which brings over 60 years of experience in water electrolysis, has spent the past 12 years completely transforming electrolyzer design architecture and has secured 39 patents in multiple jurisdictions (with more pending). Our breakthrough innovation in battery design architecture provides unprecedented operational flexibility, allowing us to capture the full output of intermittent renewable energy using fewer or smaller units than traditional electrolyzer solutions.

Next Hydrogen is a manufacturer of electrolytic hydrogen production equipment with breakthrough improvements, offering an enhanced on-site electrolytic hydrogen production system for renewable energy that can be directly used in hydrogen fuel vehicles. Its patented electrolyzer improvement equipment is capable of producing hydrogen using renewable energy that would otherwise be wasted intermittently due to grid constraints. With hydrogen production capacities of up to 2.8 megawatts in various configurations, each unit produces enough hydrogen to power 50 trucks, buses, or 500 forklifts continuously—24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Next Hydrogen aims to collaborate with the Chinese or global market, as described in China’s 13th Five-Year Plan, to jointly promote the development of the hydrogen economy. The company seeks to establish business relationships with Chinese hydrogen manufacturers, renewable energy suppliers, chemical users of hydrogen, automobile manufacturers, hydrogen refueling station owners, and developers. Next Hydrogen has rethought traditional concepts regarding battery module design and has specifically engineered electrolyzers to capture the entire range of input power from renewable energy. The company’s design enables it to produce more hydrogen at the lowest electricity cost, so customers do not need to purchase additional electrolyzers to meet their demand.
