SolarGaps

Since 2015, SolarGaps has been committed to making energy accessible to all. We are pioneering an energy distribution approach to power offices, homes, and cities of the future. By exploring innovative concepts and adopting new technologies, we help every city move closer to its net-zero targets. Our vision is a day when homes will no longer connect to the grid—instead, the grid will connect to homes.

SolarGaps Blinds are the first automated blinds that track the sun to generate electricity while keeping apartments or offices cool. Installed on building exteriors, our blinds not only reduce your electricity bills but also provide active shading to minimize air conditioning usage, thereby lowering your carbon footprint. The SolarGaps system consists of solar panels linked via durable steel cables or rigid rails to ensure secure connections even in strong winds. These façade-mounted blinds fully retract for a clean appearance and are protected by cable management boxes. The supplied cable length matches the window height plus an additional 1.5 meters. The system connects to the grid through inverters that convert solar energy into electricity, reducing the energy drawn from your utility provider by the amount generated by the blinds. SolarGaps Blinds operate within temperature ranges of -20°C to 60°C (20% relative humidity) and -10°C to 40°C (80% relative humidity). Under severe weather conditions, the blinds fully retract. The robust metal slats protect apartments from theft, while mobile app account security prevents these smart blinds from being stolen.
